Q1. What is PSC Gateway about?


A1. The PSC Gateway is PSC Scholarships’ on-line scholarship application system. If you are interested in a PSC Scholarship, namely, The President’s Scholarship, SAF Overseas Scholarship, SPF Overseas Scholarship, Overseas Merit-Scholarship, and Local-Overseas Merit Scholarship, you can apply online through the PSC Gateway at http://www.pscgateway.gov.sg. You can also apply for Ministry Scholarships through the PSC Gateway.
For other scholarships e.g. Defence Merit Scholarship, SAF Merit Scholarship etc., you have to submit separate applications to the respective Ministries.

Q2. Is the PSC Gateway available for use 24 hours of the day, 7 days a week?


A2. Yes. If the system is not available due to system maintenance activities, a system downtime notice will be displayed at the PSC Gateway website in advance, as well as during the system downtime.

Q3. Who is eligible to apply for a PSC Scholarship?

A3. We are constantly on the lookout for young Singaporeans who have a passion for learning and motivation to serve. People with strong leadership qualities and a desire to make a difference to others' lives. These time-tested qualities may be hard to come by, but are necessary in a PSC Scholar because a career in public service is more than a job. Beyond the bottom-line, being in public service is about changing lives.

Q5. Page Error

A5. It is recommended that you clear your browser's cache, and close all other applications that are running in your PC to free up memory space. To clear ‘cache’, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Go to the "General" tab in Internet Options
Step 2: Click on "Delete Files..." under "Temporary Internet Files".
Step 3: Click "OK" for the "Delete Files" dialog box.
Step 4: Click "OK" again to exit the Internet Options.

If your PC hangs, please shut down and wait for 5 or 10 minutes and then start again by opening a browser to access PSC Gateway

Q6. I hit error message, what should I do?

A6. In order for us to advise you further, please email us at psc@psd.gov.sg the following details:

1) Date and time when you encountered problems;
2) The operating system you are using;
3) Your PC's hardware configuration; (if you know)
4) The browser type and version number;
5) The name of the Internet Service Provider (ISP); and
6) The error message(s) you encountered

In the Email subject header, please indicate your Name and NRIC. Please also provide us with your contact number during office hours. Alternatively, you may contact us at our PSC Gateway Support Team helpline 6338-6000, from 9 am to 5 pm, from Mondays to Fridays.

Q7. What should I do if I click “Submit”, but do not see an Acknowledgment Page?

A7. If your application were successfully submitted, you will see an Acknowledgement Page on the screen after you click "Submit".

Otherwise, please click on “Preview and Submit” on the left navigation panel.

Q8 How do I save the Acknowledgement Page?

A8. For PC with Internet Explorer
a) Select "File Menu->Save As..." on the browser window.
b) Select the location to save the HTML document.
c) Type in the desired file name in "File name: " and click on "Save” button.

For PC with FireFox
a) Select "File Menu->Save As..." on the browser window.
b) Select the location to save the HTML document.
c) Type in the desired file name in "File name: " and click on "Save” button.

Q9 Server down message

A9. To enable us to assist you, please furnish us your full name, NRIC, contact number during office hours and description of technical problem you encountered.

OR

Please try to login again later. If you still encounter technical problems, please try the following steps:

Step 1: Please switch off your PC and wait for about 10 to 20 minutes.
Step 2: Open a new explorer and log in to PSC Gateway
Step 3: Try to submit your application once again.
Step 4: If you hit the same error message/experience any slowness in the system again, please do Steps 1 - 3 again.

OR

Alternatively, you may contact us at 6338-6000 anytime between 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday if you still encounter technical problems. Please take note of the error messages you encountered as well as the date & time of occurrence and we will assist you accordingly.

Q10 What is the minimum hardware requirement?

A10. The minimum hardware requirement is:
1) Pentium III PC and above with 256 RAM
2) 56kbps modem with connection to a local ISP

The website is best viewed using a 1024 x 768 screen resolution.

Q11 What is the minimum software requirement?

A11. For operating system:
Windows 2000
Windows XP and above

For browser:
Internet Explorer 6.0
Netscape 6.2 and above

For Macintosh:
Macintosh computer is supported. The supported configurations on a Macintosh computer are as follows:

Mac OS X 10.4.4 with Safari Browser 2.0.3
